Not very much great kid's stuff of the past has made it to DVD yet,  but with the abundance of TV
show seasons showing up now, and the first seasons of Scooby Doo and the Flintstones in the works,
could Waldo Kitty and the Archies be far behind? Heck, even The 5000 Fingers of Dr. T  isn't on DVD
yet. It would seem like a wide open market: parents and grandparents remembering stuff from when
they were kids, and buying it for the current generation. I guess time will tell.  In the meantime,
here's the best list of wacky kids stuff on DVD I could come up with.

SPY KIDS 3-D: GAME OVER

Haven't seen this one yet, but I really
dig a bunch of Robert Rodriguez's other
movies (especially Once Upon a Time in
Mexico and The Faculty) and it's in 3-D!
This super duper edition comes with 4
sets of 3-D glasses, too!

Are these kids for real?

Haven't seen this one either.
They're kids, they're spies,
they've got cool gadgets.
They rock. At least they do in
the sequel.

Quite possibly the most
entertaining kids movie ever
made about the inner workings
of the fast food industry. Rules!

The only Spy Kids movie I've seen.
The effects don't look cheap as
much as they look old-fashioned
and cool. With Steve Buscemi as a
mad scientist!

Juvenile Psychedelia

Double feature of awful musical
kiddie flicks by prolific nudie
filmmaker Barry Mahon
(starring his son!). I haven't
seen these yet, but I've read a
bunch of reviews and I'm dying
to!

Caught this one again recently,
and still enjoyed it as much as
when I was a kid. It takes a while
to get to the Chocolate Factory, but
once they do, it's unadulterated
candy-colored psychedelic delirium!

Jimmy and his magic golden
flute (named Freddy) get trapped
in a completely alien world from
which they can never escape. The
Kroffts used the same basic
theme in a great deal of their
work, but this was their first show
and their best. All 17 episodes
on 3 discs.

Friendly Monsters

More Krofft! Sigmund is a friendly
Sea Monster, and two kids keep
him in the garage. This is the first
TV show I ever remember liking
as a kid.

Godzilla's had some silly
adventures over the years, but
none as silly as this. A young boy
gets bullied, then dreams that he
goes to Monster Island, where
Godzilla and his son teach him
how to stick up for himself!

100% bona-fide gold-plated
genius! This is a movie that will
make any grown man break
down and cry like a little sissy
girl. Don't believe me? Watch it
and see.

I said "I WANNA WATCH CARTOONS!"

Public domain cartoons are swell.
No "issues", no cheap anime look,
nothing to feel serious about, just
pure manic energy in vibrant color!
I picked this Betty Boop one
because the Popeye disc called
"Fists of Fury" was out of stock.

Proof that our forefathers were
experts in brainwashing: I've got
the Preamble to the U.S.
Constitution stuck in my head and
no one can ever take it out.

One episode each of SEVEN
different Hanna-Barbera
shows. At this price, it's almost
as cheap as watching TV.
